On the road this weekend… saw this cool replica of the hippie van from the movie cars. Anyone who saw the movie will probably remember Lightning Mc Queen more, but I wouldn’t be surprised if a good number of them recalls that organic-loving van thingy. The actual name is Fillmore and as the name suggests, he’s a nature lover whose main business in Rotor City is selling organic fuel. It’s a pseudo tribute to hemp (in a kid’s movie no less) but who am I to argue? Besides, Fillmore is cool! Wouldn’t it be nice to get custom cars like this in perfect car hire services? I’d probably swap my ride with one of those rent for car Fillmores in case that happened
Well today I received my Martin Luther Beer Stein. Words fail to describe how fantastic this is. The quality of the pictures on the stein is amazing. The only disappointing thing is that the stein is really too large to drink from. Check out the cool pictures below.
Settlers of Catan is quite possibly the greatest game created in the last century. A friend of mine turned me on to the game about 4 or 5 years ago. I loved it immediately. If you’ve never played it before, run, don’t walk to your nearest gaming store and go buy Settlers of Catan along with the expansion Cities & Knights. Well now, you can play Settlers of Catan online. The basic game is free, but to play more of the advance games, you have to pay a small fee per month. It’s well worth it. Once you’ve played Cities & Knights, it’s really hard to go back to the basic game.
50% of the results of the game are determined during the placement of your settlements and cities.
With Cities & Knights, there are a lot of great possibilities. Space is at a premium. You have to fight for land and possitioning.
There are a few difficulties in playing it… but they are all small. Most of the players are in Germany, so it’s hard to find a lot of good players in the evening in the US, because it is probably in the wee hours of the morning in Germany. Plus, a lot of players only speak German, so it’s hard to communicate with a lot of players.
There are a lot of variations on the game that you can play like this "Enchanted Lands" game.
What a great thing. Settlers of Catan is fantastic. Since our family get-togethers are few and far between, this can fill in the gaps between family games. I highly recommend it.
I found a great new beer at Whole Foods this weekend. Since we have gluten allergies in the house, a gluten free beer was quite intriguing. The name is great. Bard’s Tale Beer – Dragon’s Gold.
Made from whole grain sorghum, this beer is brewed by people who have Celiac Disease. The tagline for this beer is "Good Friends, Unbelievable Stories, Incredible Beers". The packaging for this beer is about the coolest for a beer I have ever seen. From the bottle cap to the label, I just had to try it… It’s a great beer. It’s a bit expensive due to not using a lot of crap in their beer, but worth the price overall.
